Yannos Grammatidis has been appointed as the new Chair of Greek railway infrastructure company OSE. As the first measure in his office, he has announced the resumption of operations on two tourist railway lines. The Diakopto – Kalavrita rack railway in the Peloponnese and the Ano Lechonia – Milies Pileon railway in Thessaly will soon be put back into operation due to a special allocation of funds from the Ministry of Infrastructure. The lines were previously out of service due to a landslide and storm damage respectively. Grammatidis also confirmed the allocation of special funds for the renovation of railway crossings at the board meeting.
